Hey, there!
Ivan Petryshyn

Hey, there,
how do you dare
to be so unfair,
like a wounded bear,
who doesn't care
who, what and where
wears
what and why,
why some cry and others die,
why some tell the truth and others lie,
why some hire and others fire,
putting the people on fire,
tired,
not even tried
a gulp of water,
caught red-handed, setting plots,
freezing in warmth, in chill, being hot,
starting a-new or dotting the "i's",
looking for eyes
whom one can trust,
cleaning the dirt and the dust
off the surface of the beauty of life,
trying to sleep in unsleepy nights,
trying to find
the right
measure
to defeat the wrong with pleasure
of seeing, of looking, of touching,
of thinking,
sometimes silent, sometimes winking,
linking
the unseen ties
of the hearts,
gluing the parts
of the ruined hopes,
climbing the non-existing slopes
of the strong feelings that are to be true;
stop, please, control yourself and do
what you are going to.
