EYES
Ivan Petryshyn
Daring, staring eyes, Caring, meaningful, nice, Bringing the love and the light, ready to kiss and to fight, Wearing glasses or not, Seeing a bit or a lot, Willing to learn or forget, Full of compassion-regret, Gaily or just slightly sad, Cold or impartial, or lovingly mad, Creeping like snakes, Or leaping like cats, Eyes of the hearts and the souls, Seeking for guns or for roses, Without comfort or looking for cosy Sofas and chairs, and beds, Eyes of the Mary's and Ted's. Eyeof the prey and eyes of the pets, Hungry for love or for bread, Eyes of the living, not dead. Eyes of the buses and trains, Dry as the sand hurricanes, Wet as the non-stopping rains, Running or driving away, Eyes of the nights and of days, Eyes of the streets of Chicago, Eyes of the prayers and Sagas, Daring, caring eyes, Telling the truth or the lies.
